Icecast Setup in VirtualDJ
- Open VirtualDJ and go to Settings (gear icon at the top).
- Click on the Broadcast section in the left sidebar.
- Check Enable Broadcasting.
- Set the Server Type to Icecast 2.
- Set Server to source.fixedbit.stream
- Set Port to 9000
- Set Mount to /your-mount
- Set Login to source and Password to your-password
- Under Encoding, select MP3 at 128 kbps, 44100 Hz, Stereo.
- Click Start Broadcast. The broadcast indicator in the top bar will turn active when connected.
ShoutCast Setup in VirtualDJ
- Open VirtualDJ and go to Settings > Broadcast.
- Check Enable Broadcasting.
- Set the Server Type to ShoutCast v1.
- Set Server to source.fixedbit.stream
- Set Port to 9001
- Set Password to your-password
- Under Encoding, select MP3 at 128 kbps, 44100 Hz, Stereo.
- Click Start Broadcast.
Test Your Stream
Open VLC Media Player and go to Media > Open Network Stream. Enter your land URL:
http://your-stream.fixedbit.stream/streamIf you hear your audio playing back, your stream is working correctly.
Set the Land Audio URL in Second Life
- In Second Life, right-click the ground on your parcel and select About Land.
- Go to the Sound tab.
- In the Music URL field, paste:
http://your-stream.fixedbit.stream/stream - Close the dialog. Visitors with streaming music enabled will hear your stream.
